What is NAD+?
NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, and it is an essential Vitamin B3 coenzyme involved in important functions all over your body - in fact, your cells can't function without it. It turns nutrients into food, helps repair DNA, keeps our mitochondria humming as a vital part of the Krebs cycle, and helps our brain cells stay healthy.
The research is ongoing, but the findings in mice have been interesting. A 2018 article about anti-aging NAD+ research at Harvard states:
"Sinclair’s research team found that by administering NAD+ boosters they could make an old mouse run like a young mouse. An old mouse run like a young mouse.
Not only that, but young mice given the same molecules exceeded the ability of the machine to measure their endurance, something Sinclair says hasn’t ever been done before."

The NAD+ IV Therapy Process
Before Your NAD+ Infusion
- Eat normally - it's good to have something in your stomach to prevent nausea
- Take medications normally
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows us to access your forearm
- Be prepared with a book or device to watch a video or play a game - the infusion can take 1-3 hours
During Your NAD+ Infusion
- Your nurse will explain the procedure and prepare the area
- Your nurse will insert the IV - you will feel a quick pinch during insertion, and possibly some pressure where the tube is inserted. If you like, we can use numbing spray to make you more comfortable.
- The NAD+ will drip over the course of 1-3 hours (depending on the dose.)
- During the infusion, you may feel some abdominal heaviness or mild cramping, mild nausea, and some "heaviness" in your legs.
- These sensations are completely normal and they stop instantly when the drip is slowed or stopped. The slower the drip, the more comfortable the experience, which is why it can take a couple hours for some people.
- Tell your RN to adjust your drip if you want to go slower, or also if you want to speed up & muscle through the sensations of the NAD+ getting to work!
After Your Infusion
Your nurse will remove your IV and bandage the insertion site.
You should feel increased mental clarity right away, with even great effects in 24 hours.
