Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: More Oxygen. More Life.

HBOT Therapy Near Me

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a time-tested therapy with wide ranging health benefits.

HBOT increases the amount of oxygen that your blood can carry, which leads to dozens of reported health benefits. Breathing oxygen while under pressure saturates the blood - even the plasma! - with oxygen, shuttling the benefits of oxygen to every organ in your body.

What are patients saying about hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

HBOT at Prana IV Therapy

Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy is actually incredibly easy to receive - all you have to do is sit & breathe! We use comfortable, private pressurized chambers that are big enough to sit up or lay down, and you can bring your phone, a book, or a tablet for entertainment.

During your session you will breathe pure oxygen through a mask, providing steady O2 to fully saturate your blood. The chamber itself is pressurized with continuously moving fresh air. It's much safer and more convenient than chambers pressurized completely with oxygen, while still having the same benefits.

HBOT Pressure Options

Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy is available at Prana in a range of pressures (known in the HBOT world as ATAs or Atmospheres Absolute) and times to suit most health goals. We offer ATAs of 1.3, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0 & 2.2, all available in either 60 or 90 minutes at pressure.

The pressure (ATA) you receive and the time at pressure is based on your health goals, medical history, symptoms, contraindications, and previous HBOT experience. You will be guided through this at your first appointment.

HBOT Appointment Time

HBOT typically takes about 90 minutes-2 hours (time at pressure, plus time before & after to build & release the pressure.) We do require appointments, as we have a limited number of spots per day. We can occasionally accommodate walk-ins or last-minute bookings, so feel free to call or text and see what we have open!

HBOT Number of Sessions

You may feel benefits like increased clarity after your first treatment, but HBOT typically requires a series of sessions close together to feel the full level of benefit - particularly if you are dealing with an acute injury. Depending on your goals, we may recommend 10, 20 or 40 sessions.

We offer Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy near you, right in our Scottsdale clinic, just off the Scottsdale/Shea intersection on the border of Phoenix, Paradise Valley & Scottsdale.

A Deeper Dive Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Normally, the air we breathe is approximately 21% oxygen. This oxygen is absorbed by the red blood cells and transported to organs and tissues throughout the body.

Oxygen is essential to the body. It fuels our cells and is part of each of the basic building blocks we need to survive.

Every day, about seven hundred billion cells in our bodies wear out and must be replaced! Without oxygen, our bodies cannot build these new cells.

How does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy work?

HBOT is simply breathing high concentrations of oxygen while under pressure, saturating your blood cells and plasma with much more fresh oxygen than it could normally carry.

This extra oxygen is known to help fight bacteria, as well as trigger the release of growth factors and stem cells. With repeated treatments, this promotes healing, and encourages normal oxygen levels in the tissues..

What are the types of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

  • Mild HBOT: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at 1.3 ATA, the maximum pressure reached by soft-shell hyperbaric chambers. It's benefits are typically more athletic recovery & anti-inflammation.
  • HBOT: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy between 1.5 ATA-2.4 ATA. Different pressures are best suited to different issues - traumatic brain injury (TBI) or concussion is generally best at 1.5 ATA, biohackers love the longevity benefits they see at 2.0 ATA, and acute issues like wound healing may need 2.2-2.4 ATA to maximize effectiveness.

Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy for Illness

HBOT is FDA approved for the following conditions:

  • Severe anemia
  • Brain abscess
  • Bubbles of air in your blood vessels, known as arterial gas embolism
  • Burns
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Crushing injury
  • Deafness, sudden
  • Decompression sickness
  • Gangrene
  • Infection of skin or bone that causes tissue death
  • Nonhealing wounds, such as a diabetic foot ulcer
  • Radiation injury
  • Skin graft or skin flap at risk of tissue death
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Vision loss, sudden and painless
  • Altitude sickness

Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy for Wellness

Many doctors are seeing health, wellness and longevity benefits benefits from using HBOT for off-label purposes. These are not currently FDA approved, we do not diagnose, and we make no medical treatment claims!

Our physician-led team has established hyperbaric oxygen therapy protocols that take into account the latest research and the results we see in-practice. We will work with you during your initial screening to develop the best protocol for your goals, schedule and budget.
